REGULATIONS OF SPONSORSHIP FOR THE LITHUANIAN UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES


I. GENERAL PROVISIONS

1.1. The Regulations of Sponsorship for the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (hereinafter – Regulations of Sponsorship) are used to determine sponsorship, its purposes, sponsors and recipients of sponsorship, as well as obligations of sponsors and recipients of sponsorship.
1.2. The sponsorship is granted according to the Law on Charity and Sponsorship of the Republic of Lithuania.
1.3. Voluntary and free material support provided by the sponsors to the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (hereinafter –LSMU) for the purposes and by the methods specified herein, including the cases when the material support is rendered anonymously or otherwise, when no particular sponsor can be identified, shall be recognized as sponsorship.
1.4. The purpose of sponsorship is to provide material support to the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in order to implement the tasks and objectives specified in the LSMU Statute, and to contribute to the LSMU activities and implementation of the ongoing projects.
1.5. According to the Law on Charity and Sponsorship of the Republic of Lithuania, the object of sponsorship cannot be the funds of the State and municipalities of the Republic of Lithuania, Fund of National Social Insurance, budgets of Obligatory Health Insurance Fund, Privatization Fund and other national monetary funds, Lithuanian Bank and other governmental and municipal authorities, as well as tobacco and tobacco products, ethanol and other alcohol beverages, as well as products in limited circulation.
1.6. The sponsorship is recognized when it is provided by the natural and legal persons of the Republic of Lithuania and foreign countries, foreign countries, and international organizations, except for the cases defined in the Law on Charity and Sponsorship of the Republic of Lithuania.
1.7. The sponsorship may be provided (objects of sponsorship):
1.7.1. by transferring money or any other assets (including the made or acquired goods) and providing the services;
1.7.2. by providing the assets to be used on the ground of the loan for use;
1.7.3. by leaving any property by will;
1.7.4. in other modes not prohibited by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania and international agreements.

II. AGREEMENT OF SPONSORSHIP

2.1. The sponsorship shall be granted to LSMU through individual agreements of sponsorship with sponsors. 2.2. If sponsorship is provided in money through financial institutions (banks, credit union or other appropriately licensed institution), the individual agreement of sponsorship may be not made and the standard conditions of sponsorship in money approved and announced by the recipient of sponsorship could be followed (Annex 1).

III. LSMU OBLIGATIONS TO SPONSOR

3.1. To accept the sponsor’s sponsorship by signing the Conveyance-Acceptance Act. The Conveyance-Acceptance Act is not necessary if sponsorship is provided in money through financial institutions.
3.2. To use the sponsorship provided by the sponsor for the specified purpose indicated in the clause 1.4 herein and in the Agreement of Sponsorship.
3.3. To make the information about usage of provided sponsorship public.
3.4. Not to use sponsorship or its part:
3.4.1. for election campaign and to sponsor the candidates to government or executive authorities, as well as to influence the will of electors;
3.4.2. for profit-making activities;
3.4.3. to finance other activities not specified in the clause 1.4 herein.
3.5. To provide information about the received sponsorship to the State Tax Inspectorate and Department of Statistics of the Republic of Lithuania following the laws of the Republic of Lithuania.


IV. OBLIGATIONS OF THE SPONSOR

4.1. To transfer funds to the LSMU account free of charge for the purpose specified in the clause 1.4 herein.

Annex 1
STANDARD CONDITIONS OF SPONSORSHIP IN MONEY
1. The purpose of sponsorship is to provide material support to the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in order to implement the tasks and objectives specified in the LSMU Statute, and to contribute to the LSMU activities and implementation of the ongoing projects.
2. According to the Law on Charity and Sponsorship of the Republic of Lithuania, the object of sponsorship cannot be the funds of the State and municipalities of the Republic of Lithuania, Fund of National Social Insurance, budgets of Obligatory Health Insurance Fund, Privatization Fund and other national monetary funds, Lithuanian Bank and other governmental and municipal authorities.
3. LSMU undertakes to make the generalized information about usage of the provided sponsorship public and to submit the information to public authorities following the legal acts.
4. LSMU undertakes not to use sponsorship or its part for election campaign and to sponsor the candidates to government or executive authorities, as well as to influence the will of electors.
5. These conditions are the conditions of the Agreement of Sponsorship when the sponsorship is provided in money through financial institutions (banks, credit union or other appropriately licensed institution) and the individual agreement of sponsorship is not made.
